The Performa team and our collaborators recently gathered on our Old Port terrace overlooking the river. Nautical vibes, good food, good drinks and stripes as far as the eyes could see. It was one of those evenings that reminds you that work feels good when everyone is rowing in the same direction.

A world map and a guessing game
It started with the invitation. Everyone was asked to share two things ahead of time: a favourite destination they’d already been to and a dream destination still on the list. All the answers ended up on a world map displayed at the event, and the game was to guess who said what. The reveal sheet sat nearby, face down, waiting.

Such a small thing, but it opened up conversations that never would have happened otherwise. Iceland trips, Patagonia dreams, Japan memories. And as people headed home, each guest took a little glass bottle of Mediterranean sea salt with them. A message in a bottle. Simple, on-theme and just right.

A time-honoured tradition
Our in-house happiness curator regularly organizes events for our team and all our collaborators who are part of the Performa adventure. Every event features a theme, a carefully crafted setting and thoughtful details designed to create a truly memorable moment. Last winter’s Ali Baba’s cave. A harvest evening. An ecosystem of creatures big and small. And now, a terrace transformed into a ship’s deck just steps from the St. Lawrence.

This is more than just a formula. It’s a way of doing things differently — something we apply to events just as much as to client mandates.

One crew where every role counts
From art direction, design and photography to copywriting, digital strategy and social media, Performa projects pull together diverse expertise. People who’ve been collaborating for years sometimes without ever being in the same room. The Old Port terrace changed that for one night, allowing people to put faces to names and share stories about projects outside of work mode. A chance to talk and laugh without an agenda.

As the invitation said, whether you’re at the helm, on the sails or charting the course, every crew member counts. And it’s because we’re all moving in the same direction that the best work gets made.

Thanks to everyone who came aboard. Until next time!
